Who Is Warren?
Instead of a faceless website promoting a book, we decided to take a different approach and push the man behind the scenes to get in front of the camera and introduce himself to everyone. As you can tell, he doesn’t really seem to mind being in front of the camera.
Hi everyone, Warren here, first my sincere apologies for the video above if it bored you; you might able to figure it out, but I never use a script! So that is just me talking to you telling part of my story. I’ve been around home theater for a long time, with my first taste (the whole hard-wire the speakers directly into the TV thing I mentioned in the video) of home theater in 1982. From there I kept building bigger and better systems, I’ve built 4 personal theaters in my own homes and have helped lots of people over the years design and build their own home theater.
Professionally I am currently work as VP of Business Development for AV Science, in addition to many other home theater projects and consultations. AV Science sells the awesome home theater equipment you need to make your theater come to life, so when you are looking for your next AVR or projector please call AV Science. (And, of course, they are on the Recommended Resources page!)
In addition to writing The Home Theater Book, for two years I produced a quarterly DVD series called: Home Theater Revealed. That series was a wonderful way to bring home theater owners and industry experts to all the fans of home theater. Getting the change to go and visit with so many home theater owners in person, and to go and experience so many different kinds of home theaters in person was so much fun. I’ve had the joy of spending time in some of the best home theaters in the world – the commercial theaters have nothing on these guys! It was a project of love and of passion, and I hope to get the few ‘back issue’ DVDs for sale here for anyone interested in them.
I’ve had the distinct pleasure of getting to know many of the top experts in the world of home theater and AV. You’ll find several of them on the resources page. I promote them there because I believe in their work and they are the real experts, the best at what they do.
I have interviewed and spent time with acoustics experts, design experts, subwoofer experts, sound proofing experts, and more. I plan on bringing some of those experts to you in the future with some fun future projects.
I hope you are able to learn enough about The Home Theater Book to decide if it is right for you, and if you do buy it I look forward to getting an email from you letting me know how it helped – maybe even some photos of your theater journey to share as well!
Lastly, I’d love it if you would join the mailing list by clicking over there on the right to sign up. When you sign up you’ll get my thoughts on home theater, AV, Blu-rays, movie reviews, and more. Your email address will never be sold, rented, shared, tweeted, or otherwise misused, just a fun way to keep in touch and talk about home theater.
As always, On with the show!
